Phoenix

Phoenix, one of the important port cities of Carian Civilization, is located in Taşlıca Village, 45 km from Marmaris. Partially surviving fortifications point to the Hellenistic Period. As of 2021, an Archaeological Survey was initiated under the auspices of the Muğla Governorship, under the chairmanship of the Marmaris Museum Directorate, and under the sponsorship of YIKOB and Marmaris Chamber of Commerce.

Concurrent with the scientific archaeological excavations since 2020, a multidisciplinary feature has been applied to transform the region to a sustainable tourism area.
