The ancient city is located on Sedir Island, which you can reach with a short journey by boats departing from Çamlı Village, 17 km away from Marmaris. In the ancient city, whose history dates back to the 6th century BC, there are remains of the Temple of Apollo, an amphi theatre with a capacity of 2500 people, an agora and an ancient Port. It is visited by 250.000 people every year due to its sandy beach, which is said to have been brought by ships from Egypt for Queen Cleopatra by the Roman Commander Antonius and is under protection today.
